New supporting member: Université catholique de Louvain
We are delighted to announce that Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) has joined Open Knowledge Maps as a supporting member. They are the second Belgian university to join Open Knowledge Maps.
Université catholique de Louvain has been committed to Open Science and Open Education since 2015. The creation, dissemination and acquisition of knowledge, both in the field of education and scientific research, is at the heart of the Digital Strategic Plan of the UCLouvain. In 2021, UCLouvain placed Open Science, Open Education and distance learning at the heart of a new digital transformation project on the horizon of the institution's 600th anniversary. It contributes to the implementation of objectives of openness, innovation (transformation of the educational environment) and international dynamics.
Yves Deville, Senior Advisor to the President for the digital university and Open Science of UCLouvain, outlines the reasons for becoming a member:
"By subscribing to Open Knowledge Maps, we adhere to its mission of making it easier for people to discover and access both research and educational open information. We are convinced that this can help to improve the visibility and impact of our researchers and teachers. Subscribing to Open Knowledge Maps enables us to create custom maps, to visualize the connections between different research papers or open educational resources and to collaborate with other researchers." Prof. Yves Deville, Senior Advisor to the President for the digital university and Open Science of UCLouvain
We warmly welcome Université catholique de Louvain and kindly invite further organisations to join and shape the future of discovery together with us. Find out more about the supporting membership program.
