New supporting member: KB, National Library of the Netherlands
We are delighted to announce that the KB, National Library of the Netherlands has joined Open Knowledge Maps as a supporting member.
The National Library of the Netherlands plays a central role in the coordination of the public libraries network within its country. It is currently building a national digital library and is devoted to the promotion of reading, digital inclusion, and lifelong development. The KB is the first Dutch member, as well as the second national library to join Open Knowledge Maps.
Astrid van Wesenbeeck, Open Science Advisor at the KB, outlines the reasons for becoming a member:
"Paywalls may prove challenging when searching for scholarly publications. Yet another challenge is selecting a publication out of the thousands that may appear in the search results, especially for those outside of academia. Therefore, the KB, National Library of the Netherlands, is happy to officially support Open Knowledge Maps and is eager to explore how to better serve its community together with OKMaps." [Astrid van Wesenbeeck, Open Science Advisor, KB]
We warmly welcome the KB and kindly invite further organisations to join and shape the future of discovery together with us. Find out more about the supporting membership program.
