New supporting member: German National Library
We are delighted to announce that the German National Library (DNB) has joined Open Knowledge Maps as a supporting member. The DNB is Germany's central archival library for all text, image and audio publications issued in Germany since 1913. They are the first national library joining Open Knowledge Maps.
The DNB see themselves as a scientific, educational and cultural institution. They are open to the general public and offer their guests a varied programme of exhibitions, events, guided tours and educational services.
Frank Scholze, Director General of the German National Library, outlines the reasons for becoming a member:
"The German National Library strongly believes in making knowledge accessible to the public and in supporting research and education to the very best of our abilities. Our aim is to offer a multitude of possibilities to explore and experience our vast collections to cater to different user needs and preferences. We are therefore very much looking forward to supporting and working with Open Knowledge Maps to help develop and build new and innovative ways to discover open online publications and resources."
